5. Fabrizio Giovanardi - 9%
This year Matt Neal won the championship again, the 1st time the title has been won back to back since Chris Hodgetts in 1987.
This time the path the title wasn't as straightforward, with more DNFs and incidents. In a number of races the amazing strength of the integra was responsible for points finishes. Its interesting to note that whilst Plato finished 2nd in the championship he's only placed 4th here.

Fabrizio Giovanardi's first win in the championship, coincided with the long awaited 100th win for Vauxhall. The win was secured by superb defensive driving from the experienced Italian. He was keen not to see a repeat of the Donington race where he lost the race at the last corner. |

If i could change one thing about the btcc it would be - Nothing
1. Nothing - 23%
2. More Manufacturers involved - 18%
3. Cleaner driving standards
- 4%

You wouldn't get this result with formula 1 would you?
The majority of btcc fans are so satisfied with the btcc as it stands that even if they where given the chance, they would change absolutely nothing and leave the btcc exactly as it is.
More manufacturer involvement would be beneficial on a number of levels; fewer pay drivers and more cars for independents to use in future years. |
