  Future stars join Snetterton line-up - 14th February 2006

Fans attending the Snetterton round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in August will have a chance to see some of the stars of the future following the announcement that the T Car Championship will form part of the support package for the seventh round of the season.

The saloon car championship - aimed at 14-17 year olds - will have two races on the schedule at the BTCC meeting, adding to rounds already scheduled as part of the Dunlop Great and British Festival on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in April and the British F3/GT meeting at Silverstone in September.

The high profile meetings have come about after MotorSport Vision took over the organisation and development of the series earlier this year and MSV chief executive Jonathan Palmer said he was delighted that T Cars would be taking a place on the BTCC support package.

"The British Touring Car Championship is the UK's premier car racing championship, and it's really going through a tremendous boom period right now, with the field just getting stronger every year," he said. "It is important that the supporting races are of a similarly high calibre and T Cars produce some exciting and compelling racing that should match their big brothers in the BTCC.

"It will also be a rare chance for BTCC fans to see the drivers who, in a few years from now, may well be competing for them in the headline event and I think people will be very surprised at how quickly these cars are driven by youngsters who are only 14 or
15-years old."

VX Racing driver Tom Chilton is the most high profile graduate from T Cars in recent seasons, while SEAT Cupra Champion Tom Boardman and F3 racers Ryan Lewis and Jonathan Kennard are also past competitors.
