| The TH Motorsport with JAG team and John George have confirmed their continued participation in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship in 2008 with the Honda Integra they campaigned together last year.
George achieved four points finishes in 2007 with a best result of eighth as his pace improved towards the end of the season, plus a fine tenth overall in the hotly-contested Independent Drivers’ championship.
Trevor Humphrey, principal of the Watford-based TH squad, said: “2007 was a steep learning curve for both the team and John, as everything only came together just before the Media Day. Having said that, the whole team gelled very quickly and John was able to put in some strong performances. We are expecting increased competitiveness in 2008 and have in fact set ourselves some high achievement targets.”
George’s BTCC commitments will be shared – as ever – with his hectic work schedule: he recently acquired Perranporth airport in his native Cornwall and his mobile communications network JAG continues to expand across the west-country.
The popular 46-year-old, who hails from Par but now commutes by private plane to and from his home in Guernsey, added: “It was great to return to the BTCC in 2007. However I must admit the bar has been raised since my first campaign in 2004.
“I have no doubt the bar will be raised even higher in 2008. Believe me, I cannot wait to sit behind the wheel again. The BTCC is the only place to be and I am looking forward to the 2008 season more than I can ever remember looking forward to a season before.”
