Fans of the British Touring Car Championship are being urged to vote for their star Snetterton driver – and stand a chance of presenting him with a bottle of bubbly in person.

Sponsors HiQ launched its inaugural Champagne Moment following the weekend of racing at Croft, which was a deemed a huge success after hundreds of fans voted for their favourite competitor.

Mat Jackson won the sponsor’s inaugural prize and was presented with his champagne by Jacky Perry of Wisbech, who also won tickets for a future round of her choice.

A total of 350 fans registered, with a whopping 67 per cent voting for Jackson.

HiQ is delighted with the success of the initiative and is now urging fans to log on and vote for their favourite driver from Snetterton.

The driver with the most votes will receive a magnum of champagne at Oulton Park on Sunday July 27 and one lucky fan will present him with the prize in person.

So whether it was Jason Plato’s double success, or Steven Kane’s podium finish in race three, HiQ want fans to start registering their votes now.

To register, simply log on to www.hiqonline.co.uk and vote for your favourite driver. The deadline for entries is 12 noon Monday July 21.

HiQ’s BTCC spokesman James Bailey said: “We are delighted with the success of our first champagne moment and glad Jacky enjoyed the experience.

“We want our sponsorship to leave a positive impression on the people that matter at the BTCC – the fans.

“There are still plenty of rounds remaining, so there are lots of opportunities for fans to get involved.”
