Motorbase Performance has previously contended the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, British GT Championship and the Seat Cupra Championship.

In 2006 the team ran the ex-Dan Eaves 2005 Dynamics Integra for experienced racer David Pinkney. Dave had an up and down year, Gavin Smith is certainly not on his Christmas card list.
Dave made the most of his smooth and clean driving style at Knockhill to finish on the podium whilst the rest of the field crashed – a lot.

Towards the end of 2006 the team acquired the ex-works Seat Toledos for the 2007 season. It was a difficult year for the team, there were glimpses of speed but a lot of heavy accident damage scuppered their chances.

For 2008 the team are looking for an improvement, they've upgraded to modern machinery in the form of two BMW 320si.
It will be interesting to see how the team compares to Team RAC who are also running two of the BMWs. Race wins should be possible this year. The drivers are Steven Kane who came close to winning the Porsche Carrera Cup last year and experienced touring car driver Rob Collard.
